HDD not recognized

i built my computer at the beginning of the year and everything was fine but now my computer has stopped recognizing the hard drive. it didn't show any signs or anything, i tried the cable and i know its not that, i just wondered if there was any reason it might not be working? it seems way too early for it to have died.

did you regularly check its health using crystaldiskinfo or some other SMART software

So it doesn't even show up in the BIOS?  Have you tried different SATA ports, SATA cables, and power cables?  And maybe tried it in a different system?
