Dashcam Help

Dear LTT Community,

 

I am looking for a Dashcam with a few specific features:

• To blend as seamlessly as possible with the vehicle to discourage theft (if it looks like a cellphone mount, and functions as one, all the better; or perhaps its part of the rear mirror)
• To record onto an MicroSD card which is synced via Wifi to either my phone or computer (when in range)
• To save a video with an appropriate amount of time with a 360 degree view around the vehicle during an impact (whether the car is on or not)
• To ping my phone via Wifi during a collision event (thus it must have an accelerometer)

 

I could not find a single device that blends in with the car or has 360 degrees of recording (even with more than one camera).

 

I am getting a fairly expensive car soon and want to protect it from parking lot hit and runs, of which I have been suffering from from every car I have ever bought, my most recent one (back in 2013) happening within the first month.

Since you posted in the hobby electronics section, I assume you are going for a DIY solution? Also I can't think of any commercial product which covers all of your features. Although imo there should be something like this available, why aren't we funding this lol

Sorry, that's not happening. There's nothing out there that's both discrete and offers 360 degree FOV. The best thing you can get is a mobius or two placed strategically on your car.
