if you don't need the extra power, save 50 dollars and get the 6500.

Hello there

I am building a new computer, and was originally planning to use a 6600K, but when I saw the 6500 for $50 less, I thought, HEY! ITS CHEAPER BUT SIMILAR!.

I don't play really any AAA pc games, only really casual games, probably the most demanding Dirty Bomb or Rocket League, so I thought that it would be fine.

I am planning on upgrading to a 6700K in a year-ish, so, is the extra $50 worth it for an 6600K (bearing in mind I am on a fairly tight budget).

I have a friend who has one and it was maxing out on Dying Light, but I wouldn't really ever play something that demanding.

Thanks

Callum

then get an i5 6500 + a z170 board

but honestly speaking, the i5 6500 will last you quite some time, so you dont need the i7 upgrade (as well as a z170 board for OC)

by the time you'll need an upgrade, intel probably already launched newer and better platforms

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I was gonna be getting the Asus Z-170 A in the first place so that works out fine
