How bad is Windows 10 Home, and is spending more for Pro possibly worth it?

Yeah, I know that it's still forced but being able to deferring the updates to any extent is nice. Though I'm sure there's a way to temporarily delay an update in W10 Home.

I suppose it's totally possible it's just a threat that they won't support security patches for Skylake CPUs on older versions of Windows. Or as you said or some how there'll be unofficial patches to security on the older versions of Windows (7 and 8/8.1).
