So today I am getting a new cpu, and I will be able to put together the rest of my pc. Ill have to install the new cooler I got also, but im not realy worried about the assembly. Im more worried about having to deal with the bios. I got help when first assembling my PC, so I never really had to deal with that portion, since my friends were more savvy there. IM contemplating doing this all on my own, but im still unsure if I need to reinstall windows or what. Im going from amd to intel, btw. I have my windows install cd, and the activation key. If someone could help me out a little to give me an idea on what exactly I need to do before hand, that would be appreciated.

pretty sure if it is on your ssd/hdd you already have connected to your mobo it should be fine.

I am not a computer expert however I can tell you things from my experience and from things I've heard on this site.

I'll try to help you as much as possible and suggest other things if needed.

Don't take this for granted and always do your own research!

i would highly suggest you do a backup on everything, then do a clean windows install to remove any old drivers that might cause issues with the new ones

So basically I would reinstall windows clean on my current board to remove all the drivers, then take out the old board, and put in the new one? And install all the mobo drivers that came with it?

no, you backup everything when you're on the old computer

build your new computer, then only install the fresh windows upon boot up

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately
