the case is purely aesthetics and in my country is one of the cheapest decent looking

the i5-6500 is the same price of the fx 6300 and the 960 so imo its better this way

Maybe, to his stepdad, the looks (he will look at the outside a lot) are more important than getting every single drop of performance from his budget.

With me it was silence, ultimate performance took a back seat to quiteness ([ well my main PC is in the lounge and noise would soon see me coping with 'deaf and dumb breakfast'] better to use a SLIGHTLY less powerful rig than possible than not use a rig at all)

Just get an i5 6500 and a 380 4GB man, maybe add or swap out the hard drive for an SSD, if your budget is higher get a 390

and especially get a better power supply

If you want a nice silence optimized case, go for the silencio 352

Wait then why use the US part picker?

Then in any case, look for the i3 6100 with one of the budget MSI boards, a 380 for sure over a 960, don't buy a kingston SSD, and still better PSU, and really just fine a cheaper case, It's doubtful you'd ever use most of the features the R5 offers

If an FX chip is the best you can do, then look for any of the 83xx chips because you'll want the 8 core, and if you can find this motherboard you'll be all set

either an 8320E or preferably an 8300
