well previous mobo (H61M-S2P-B3 Gigabyte) the audio is working. but thats a 2 month ago before i buy msi.

can it mobo defect or cable defect?

i'll check the cables are they damaged or not.

if damaged, how to repair it?

It can be either.

Good idea.

Soldering if it's the cable, RMA the motherboard if it's the motherboard.

hello, i have Z170A PRO , using Corsair Carbide SPEC 01, which it has "HD AUDIO" plug.

i plugged it in to the mobo, but none audio detected when i plug audio jack in front audio.

help!

rear audio jack is working properly.

Sure the pins are all lined up? Possibly defective cable.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

now the difficult thing is : i only have cheapo Case which it has Audio jack but i'm very sure they're not HD audio, or maybe AC 97....

If so, check the BIOS. On older boards there was an option to chose between AC97 or HD audio. If yours has this too, this should fix it. The cable/connector is the same.
