I want to record gameplay with live commentary along with another person in a skype call or team speak. And I would LOVE to have 3 separate files: Gameplay with its Audio, my Microphone, and The Call (Skype or Teamspeak)Just so I can adjust and change the files separately. Even if it takes 3 different programs to accomplish this task.  When I record gameplay I use NVIDIA Shadowplay which I think is one of the best (free)recording software. It gives you 2 options to recorded In-Game audio or In-game audio and your microphone. However with either setting, ShadowPlay records any background noise which includes people talking in skype. I did lots and lots of research and I read up on Virtual Audio Cables which I found 1 program that is the best but I have no money to drop on that at the moment and it is a little pricey so I doubt ill every buy it (it has a free trial but it wont work for me) So to conclude

  • How can I record gameplay audio (hopefully on ShadowPlay) without picking up ANY background program audio such as skype?
  • How can I record a skype call or teamspeak call that just capture the call itself and NOTHING else?

Capture my mic audio seems pretty straight forward so I'm confident I can do that myself but if there is any suggestions please say.

i know bandicam can record two separate tracks, one being your mic and the other being windows audio

so if you use skype on a second laptop/pc/phone then bandicam can output two files, one for the game and one for your mic

then record skype on your other pc or phone

OBS Studio can record up to four separate audio tracks. Some editing programs, like Adobe Premiere, allow you to individually edit the tracks.

If you don't have an editing program that allows that, you'd record with OBS Studio on 3 tracks (Desktop audio, mic, skype), then use Audacity to separate the tracks into three separate files, plus the video.

OBS Studio and Audacity are completely free (and open source if I remember correctly)
