So, I'm building a new PC for gaming (and sometimes educational, like Microsoft Word) purposes, and I've created my first build, which can be viewed here: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/KgcjYJ

I want to be able to play the latest games, with at least decent graphics (high - ultra level). I've saved a lot of money, so I can really go all out on this. I want this PC to last a very long time (at least 5 years, before I save for a new one again), but I don't know very much on the health and safety of PC building.

How many fans do I need to keep things from over-heating?

Apparently, electrostatic discharge is an immense problem, so how can I stay safe, and keep my computer protected from it?

Is my build OK? Will it fit my specifications above?

Are there any components I should edit to maximize performance while maintaining this price level?

Are any of my parts too powerful for others?

Anything that I can improve on in general?

Sorry for the bombardment of questions, I just need a human being to consult and not a faceless website. Thanks in advance.

Naw man, here, better GPU, better display for gaming in a 1080p 144hz free-sync display, and especially a better power supply

You could rub your motherboard on carpet and it'll be probably be fine, just touch your case before you start once it's grounded with the power supply plugged in, turned off and attached.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

While I agree with this build, I would prefer something similar to my build, maybe try to rebound off of my build, and suggest a better one instead of a completely new one. I appreciate the help though. Thanks.

Also, a lot of people online say that I may need multiple fans? Is this true?

The list he suggested is already more than enough for your needs.

And no.

Maybe if you live in a really hot area or are doing overclocking, but your case will come with enough fans to move some air anyways

So I visited your build and it says there are compatibility issues. Should I be concerned?

The Fractal Design Core 1000 USB 3.0 MicroATX Mid Tower Case supports video cards up to 350mm long, but video cards over 210mm may block drive bays. Since the Sapphire Radeon R9 390 8GB Nitro Video Card is 308mm long, some drive bays may not be usable.

If you need those extra HDD drive bays, then yes. If not, then no.

Which means you'll have to tuck that SSD in somewhere else. Not a big deal. ;)

You lose some hard drive bays in the case because of the long GPU, but you can just buy a higher end case with all the room in the budget, I'd say get a Silencio 352 case for a more silent PC

Also don't get a headset man, the Superlux 668Bs are pretty solid and cheap

and you are spending way too much on that keyboard

Also if you're going to buy windows don't buy an OEM key because they only work once basically, and windows 10 home limits your ability to control updates, you're forced to install security updates on it if I remember right.
