390x or 490x?

Just got a wonderful tax return and am planning to take that money (plus some) to FINALLY get my first rig.  With Polaris supposedly coming out in the next few months, will it be worth it to wait for that 490x or just stick with the 390x like I had originally planned?  For reference, sticking with 1080p gaming with an i5 6600k (no streaming/video editing, so an i5 will do me just fine).

a 970 will be fine

@tubajoe0, if you can wait, just wait. you have nothing to lose by waiting, intel skylake's igpu are pretty decent anyway

the wiesest decision = waiting for new gpu, we're already so close anyway

We still dont know what Polaris 10 will be called but thats not important. The price to perfromance is. Patience will pay off greatly here. There are some games that can be run off the iGPU in the mean time while you wait for the new cards to launch.
