Threads for Performance

So if someone could explain for gaming rigs, should i use less or more cpu threads, and a general reason why?

Why wouldn't you use more threads? It'll help if you only have a duel core (Also will help with an i7) More is better

For a gaming PC you won't see any gains past 8 threads. The CPUs with less cores in them can be more easily clocked higher than a CPU with more cores, giving it an edge in single threaded applications, generally the sweet spot is a quad core.

Unless its cores inside a AMD FX series CPU compared to a Intel Core series CPU.

for intel, games perform good enough on 4 cores and threads, going 4 cores and 8 threads will see some improvement but its not worth the extra price

 

for AMD, just go to intel, or wait for AMD Zen `-`
