honestly theres not much HTTPS can do in making the download of an executable "safer" against virusses, since most of the time they mess with a download's integrity they modify the source file itself.

 

why intercept traffic when you can just fudge it once and have it go automagically?

I'm not sure if you understand what HTTPS does. It makes input and sending inputs safer. You still need common sense and Anti-virus against malware which is being downloaded and executed. If anything, you have been really annoying here by not giving any useful information.
