Hey guys,

I'm currently searching for a wireless PC controller, because I'd like to play a lot of ter games that are coming out in the future with a controller instead of a mouse and a keyboard.

Now there are different factors that are important for me:

-Compatibility: Obviously the controller should be directly compatibility to pretty much all of the games. (e.g. the XBOX Controller which is compatible to most of the games, even directly built into the game)

-Built-quality: It should last longer than just 2 Months. The controller should be robust and shouldn't just Fell cheap.

-Wireless: Like I already said in the intro, it should be wireless (I think it is way Mord convenient)

-Pricing: Honestly, I dont want a controller for like 70$, still it should be a good price/performance ratio.

So, what are your recommendations? Should I just go for Microsofts XBox Controller for PC or do you guys habe some interesting suggestions?

Thanks in advance!

In my experience the wireless Xbox controller for PC is the best solution. If you have Bluetooth you could try a PS3 controller, but the drivers are quite buggy when going wireless.

I literally plugged my controller in when I first installed BF3 and I didn't even need to change any options. :)

i use a wired xbox controller for all the games that i need a controller for, if you want wireless i think you just need an adapter.

if you have a bluetooth adapter, you can use motionjoy to use a PS3 controller wirelessly

+1 You could emulate the PS3 controller to a Xbox controller in MotioninJoy in order to get the vibration support and compatibility in games.

Thanks for all your feedback and suggestions! I realy appreciate it :)

I'm probably going for the XBOX Controller, since it is the most compatible and I don't have a bluetooth adapter...

Just one short question:

In my opnion, the black one looks worse-built and the black plastic looks kinda cheap. Are there any kind of imprints on the white controller after using it (with a bit oily skin)?

Logitech F710. Great gamepad, use it myself, has lasted a long time and still works very well :)

I looked into 3rd party controllers (and I really like Logitech, using a Driving Force GT for quite some years now), but how about compatibility? I know that a lot of games have built-in xBox Controller support and to be perfectly honest, I would prefer a plug&play option :D

The controller has both Xinput and Directinput - meaning that even if it's not compatible, you switch to the other mode on the controller and it will be :) Never ran into a major game that it wasn't compatible with.

Wel, that's sound pretty good. How big is the controller? I've got big hands - and in the picture it looks (to me at least) quite small...

I got a pic to give you a sense - I used an ipod Touch 4th gen to scale :)

EDIT: The handles are a little small, so you may not be very comfortable holding it but it's ok for me :)

As you said in the edit, the palmrest (if you can call it like that) looks quite small...

GOD DAMN IT - I can't decide! :D

On one hand I love Logitech and admire the durability and built-quality of their products,

on the other hand the Xbox Controller looks (!) more confortable.

Then again, I've grown up with the PlayStation controller design and I'm more used to it...

// I never knew this decision could be that hard - you guys aren't making it easy for me :P

EDIT: Furthermore, I've just read that the gamepad has connection issues for a bunch (!) of users, e.g. no / bad connections if distance is bigger than 1m etc...

The controller is a lot more similar to a PS3 controller than to an Xbox Controller, but it has a slightly different shape so your fingers will be uncomfortable at first. I'd say you'd be better off using an Xbox controller, it's bigger and more comfortable :)
