Hi all,

I just want to know if this camera that I've found on Argos is any good. In terms of good I want it to be able to take good quality pictures of people,landscapes....and also shoot nice quality video. All just under £100.

So is this camera any good? If not what do you recommend for under £100?

If you can consider buying used equipment, you might find something like a Canon 20D or D90.

Careful, not all old DLSrs shoot video ie the 20D for example (or are just ultra shit)

Youre better off buying a new smart phone... imo.

Anytime some one asks for cameras for (insert price point) these are usually the cameras I advise when it comes to video work:

  • FZ300 - $250 to $350 Used
  • Lumix G7 - $500 New or &450 Used
  • NX500 - $400 to $550 Used (Dead system)
  • Black Magice Pocket Cinema Camera - $700 to $800
  • NX1 - $900 Used (Dead system)
  • A6300 or GH4 - $1000 New
  • A7R II and A7S II - $1500 to $2000
  • Black Magic Ursa Mini 4k - $3000 to $4000
  • RED - If you're on a budget... goood luck hahaha

Why not go rent one. If you're simply testing the water and don't want to plop down a rather large chunk of money for a body + lense setup.

See if there's any local shop around that rent out body and lense and check their pricing. I personally don't know how much they should cost, most I've rented is a polarizer filter. But they should be a heck of a lot less than buying complete setup brand new or used.
