How to store Thor's Hammer

Train27

So I bought a Mjölnir replica in a local Comics event a couple of weeks ago. The thing is, I'm worried about it's maintenance, since at the end of the day, after being holding it in my hand for a few hours, I noticed that a part of the handle was a little bit chapped.

It looks like it's make on some kind of soft plastic, I'd say it's polystyrene since it's the most used one but as the hammer came without a box or anything I can't tell for sure.

It's suitable for soft-combat and it has a decent weight without being annoyingly heavy.

I live on the basement of a 3 floor house, south of Spain, so the air is a little bit damp. I run a dehumidifier a couple of hours every day to keep the room's air dry.

I'm looking for suggestions to make the hammer last as long as possible, since it was kinda expensive :(

Odin's vault. Duh

On a more serious note.

Top shelf in a closet?

Or possibly getting a display case for it?
