Hypothetically I have 200$.

What should I do with my current rig (see sig)?

My current options are:

1.) Push the budget to 300$ to get an i7-4790 and end all CPU bottlenecks for the Haswell foreseeable future.

2.) Get an i5-4460 and HyperX Cloud Headset (my Phillips Headphones is deteriorating)

3.) ????

When suggesting, do not consider selling the other parts. Just consider the 200$ budget at the moment.

I plan on doing something else for the resale of parts.

To add:

My "endgame" for this build would be an i7-4790, some sick single GPU (980Ti, Titan etc. etc.), and tons of hard drives.

The motherboard will stay the same, I will probably transfer to a smaller case (like the chimaera or other 300$ ones).

Do you NEED the i7?  I don't personally believe it's worth the money if you don't need it, and that an i5 in most cases would do you just fine.

I'd go option 1 and just wait til you get enough for the hyper x cloud headset after

If I do that, I'd just get the HyperX cloud NOW, and get the i7 later ahahahaha

I dunno. I'm not entirely sure. I just don't want to have that regret later on when AAAAA games require 4C/8T ahahaha After all, I do plan to stick with this chipset for a looooong time.

Get a i5 4690k

No point getting the K since i'm on an H-board

And I think the i5-4690 is not bang-for-buck.

It depends on what you want more, if you could stretch the budget a bit I'd go with the 1231v3 and the headseet if its possible, not sure what the prices are like where you are (presumably the US).

the 1231v3 would solve all my problems. BUT, it's not available in my country (Philippines).

Besides, I think I could buy a used i7-4790 from a trusted seller at the same price.

If used is an option go with that. I got a 5820k, X99 extreme4 and 16GBs of Ripjaws 4 2400 for $500 AUD. Was trying to get a new PSU after mine shorted out and took out my GPU and everything I was looking for isn't available in aus (650w G2/P2, some XFX units etc.)

I'd go for the HyperX Clouds now and the 4790 later when you have the cash, however, the 4790 might become unavailable to buy new in a few months as it isn't in the current generation. If you want to save money on your headset and don'treally need the USB DAC and all the other accessories, I'd look into the Core version of the clouds if there are available to you at marginally cheaper price as it's more bare bones and only include the headphoens and mic.

Noted on the unavailability, I'll keep that in mind.

If I'm going with the Clouds, I'll buy the I or the II, it's more of a color scheme choice than the accessories.

Yeah, there isn't much difference between the I and II other than the colour choices and accessories. However I believe that the Core only comes in the original Black and Red colourway

Yuh hence why I'd buy the I or II. Red/Black isn't my thing.

Prices from Galleon.PH are 200% US SRP + shipping, so no ahaha

A used i7-4790 would go as low as 10,000PhP, roughly 215-230$,
