Hey there!

Im currently using fx 8720 8 - core cpu which is worth around 100 British pounds - used. So i wanted to ask if you guys found anything which is equivalent from intel side for gaming.. maybe even better as most of the games take advantage of more powerful cores as less as just having more less powerful cores. around same price range which i could easily exchange..
And this is totally based on gaming, no video rendering or other stuff..
Thanks in advance..

an i5 6500 would be a great substitute for the FX8XXX series cpu

better single core performance, not that much behind in multithread performance

so better performance in games

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

There's no exact apples to apples equivalent between an fx 8320 (assuming you meant that one) and a given intel cpu, which you seem to understand.  AMD's FX series is different from an architectural standpoint, where even Intel's current low end cpus will beat it in applications (games) that use less cores.  In other cases, it could be almost as good as an i7.

A low clocked i5 (like the i5-4430/4460) would be my best measured "equivalent" in terms of measuring overall performance / value / versatility. They're in almost the same price range, too.  People making gaming PCs will usually opt for the i5, while people who are looking to do more multimedia and CPU intensive work opt for the FX.
