No, the PSU is crap in terms of quality. Definitely something you don't want to be powering a R9 390.

'Fanboyism is stupid' - someone on this forum.

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Spoiler

which thermaltake psu are we talking about here?

and my rationale is, dont buy good hardware but cheap out on the psu, but an equally good psu to power your rig, its not something worth cheaping out on

what do you think could happen if something thats changing 110~240V to 12v went wrong? best case is the psu dying by itself, worse case is it brings down some components with it, worst case is your house with it

The 6600K is quite a powerful CPU that can really stretch the 390, I'd suggest sticking with 390.

Thermaltake PSUs range from good to bad. Which one are you talking about?

i5 2400 | ASUS RTX 4090 TUF OC | Seasonic 1200W Prime Gold | WD Green 120gb | WD Blue 1tb | some ram | a random case

Well... Telling me the wattage doesn't really help much. I need the model.

But actually, what is your budget for  the PSU? I understand some people don't have the budget for a really high end one.

For this system you need a quality 600w power supply like seasonic, be quiet! or fractal design.

Definitely avoid Smart SE. The ToughPower model is still alright. The ToughPower Grand will be better, I recommend it.
