So I recently upgraded to Windows 10 and I haven't had any issues at all until just a few days ago.

I noticed that after a while after booting up my computer it got really slow, everything was just really slow.

I then opened up task manager and saw this : https://gyazo.com/bf20136e7009d324f8f78f7bfaff6868

My memory is at a really high % all of the sudden which is really strange to me because it never really got that high on my previous windows 8.1.

When I run World of Warcraft the System and compressed memory goes up to 400 MB while the game's around 200. Again I did NOT have this issue on my previous OS.

There is nothing wrong with my RAM , I have 16 GB of RAM so I don't think I should be getting this issue..

One more weird thing is that when I restart my computer this issue goes away. My memory is at a low % and my computer runs fine.

What's wrong here? Is it something about a Windows 10 patch or is it maybe old 8.1 files taking lots of memory??

Appreciate all the help I can get, thank you.

probably memory leak if restarting your computer makes it go back to normal

but seriously, i cant even reach 12gb while gaming and i've allocated 4gb to ram cache

how did you get 96%

and the system compressed memory thing is just windows compressing some files or something to save up your ram space (or so i heard)

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

$10 says if you uninstall chrome it goes away

Additionally, you should consider just doing a clean install of Windows.

Please spend as much time writing your question, as you want me to spend responding to it.  Take some time, and explain your issue, please!

I failed to mention when I upgraded to windows 10 I chose to keep all my files.

I have A lot of documents that I need to keep. I don't have an external HDD so saving all of them would be a hassle.

A clean upgrade of windows 10 would maybe help but I still just want to know how/why it goes to such a high %

yes, a clean install of windows 10 might solve the problem. its probably one of your files from your previous windows version.
