I've been thinking of dropping some dough for the kunlun e18 portable amp/dac to use with my s7.  Music of all genres and file types.  From 320kbps mp3 to uncompressed flac.  I have several headphones ranging from 598s, crossfade m80,  momentum v1,  and x00s.

I may also use the e18 with my fiio x5 dap if I  gives me added benefit.  Does anyone have any idea if I would see gains noticeable enough to justify the purchase?  Any and all input is very much appreciated.

Depends on your hearing and how good the masters of the songs are.

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

Most of the 320kbps files are CD rips from iTunes years ago but majority of my files are uncompressed flac CD rips so basically very close to master.

I'm also considering the MOJO but the $500 price tag doesn't sit well with me if I can get 80% of its benefit for 20% of its cost which is why I'm mainly considering the kunlun

I guess this question was a bit too specific lol

Nah not really I just haven't had time to help everyone ;)
Most build in amps and dacs in phones are not good lets just say it that way. The e18 will make the sound better, but depending on how good your hearing is, you are maybe going to notice it a lot or a little. Please dont go with the MOJO its really just a waste of money, you aren't going to hear the difference if the both are transparent unless you have better hearing than me and I really doubt that.
