Watercooled gtx 970 inside Raven rvz01

Kouk

Hello everyone, I'm a newbie in the forum. I'd like to ask if I can fit a radiator on the bottom 2 fans of the Silverstone raven rvz01 case to watercool the GPU above them. I made my first build after 9 years and I went with these parts,

I was thinking about using one of the corsair GPU Liquid Cooling Brackets and a 240mm radiator and mount it on top of the case's slim fans but I'm not sure which as they are different in thickness. how many mm thick should the radiator be and is this actually doable or should I stick with the standard air cooling of the GPU ?

Thank you in advance

Watercooling wll always help lower the temps you reach, but only if it is mounted correctly. If you haven't done a build in 9 years I would suggest leaving the GPU as-is and then in the future if you weel like you need a temp decrease go for it. Liquid cooling on a GPU is difficult at best and often will void your warranty on the product, if any of the VRAM is not sufficiently cooled (which can be an easy mistake) the entire card will go to S***.

The other thing is that the CPU cooler in your list isn't great and will be a bigger thermal problem that your GPU (twin frozr is actually a really good cooler design)

If you want to go for it be my guest,I personally wouldnt, I would Liquid cool the CPU first and then see if the GPU really needed it.

Thanks, I've benchmarked the CPU quite a lot these past few days after I made the PC and the temps were always lower than 60 Celcius. there isn't much room in the case so I went with this low profile cooler and I've even played games with it using the integrated GPU without burning the CPU. I think for a low profile cooler it's pretty good.

also, there is a fan directly on top of the CPU that provides fresh cool air on the cooler thus helping it cool better.

From  where I'm sitting, a watercooling setup for your GPU will be massive overkill, plus if you are going to go to all that effort you could probably stick a cheap AIO on the cpu at the same time.
