I'm planning to build a gaming computer mostly for FPS like CS GO, but no only for CS maybe sometimes do some school work on it also. I live in Finland and budget is about 900-1050€ without Windows. Peripherals I already have and I will use only one monitor for now. This is my build what I'm thinking.

-Intel core i5 4460

-Asus H97-Plus

-HyperX Savage 2x4GB DDR3

-MSI GTX 970

-Kingston 120GB SSD

-WD Caviar Blue 1TB

-Cryorig H7

-EVGA SuperNova 550W

-Corsair Carbide 400C

I know the case is expensive compared to the build and that the CPU Cooler ain't necessary but I just have the stock cooler. But I'm open for recommendations and changes.

Since you aren't gunna overclock the CPU, I'd go with the hyper 212 evo or just a stock cooler.

Other than that, looks good.

i7 4790k | MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition | G.Skill Ripjaws X 16 GB | Samsung 850 EVO 500 GB | 2x Seagate Barracuda 2TB | MSI GTX 970 Twin Frozr V | Fractal Design R4 | EVGA 650W

A gaming PC for your budget: $800 - $1000 - $1500 - $1800 - $2600 - $9001

If the cheapest 390 is $100 more than the cheapest 970, then yeah, go with the 970. Unless, any places selling the 290/290x around you?

I actually found a R9 390 just 10€ more than 970 so maybe I will go with that. But why 390 over 970 ?

The 390 preforms marginally better compared to the 970, plus it has more VRAM, so it does better at higher resolutions.
