After using a laptop for 5+ years, I have finally decided to build an actual pc. However since this is my first time trying to build a pc I'd like to now if I made some real obvious mistakes.

So following that Build plan recommendations thread I saw here earlier:
I live in the Netherlands and have €1500 to spend on the complete system (so monitor, peripherals and OS included)
I am mainly going to use it for gaming right now however I do plan on using it as somewhat of a workstation in the near future.

So this is what I have at the moment:

Spoiler

CPU:
i5-6600k                                                 238,90        (Azerty.nl)

Cooler:
CM Hyper 212 Evo                                   34,90        (Azerty.nl)

MOBO
MSI Z170A KRAIT Gaming 3x                149,90        (Azerty.nl)

RAM:
Crucial Ballistix Sport 4x4                         57,05        (Azerty.nl)

GPU:
Sapphire Nitro R9 390                            356,90        (Azerty.nl)

Case:
Phanteks Eclipse P400 white                    69,90        (Azerty.nl)

PSU
Coolermaster G750M                               85,90        (Azerty.nl)

SSD
-

HDD:
WD Blue WD10EZEX                                52,90        (Azerty.nl)

OS:
Windows 10 Pro                                       25,99        (Kinguin.net)

Total:                                                    1080,76

Monitor:
LG 29UM57-P                                       269,00        (Azerty.nl)

Mouse:
G602                                                       69,99        (Azerty.nl)

Keyboard:
Gamdias Hermes 7 color                        79,95        (Vivolanda.nl)

Total                                                     418,94

Total total                                            1499.70

As you can maybe tell I'm going for a black and white build. After using 2 monitors for at least 2 years (looks horrible) I'm already looking forward to that ultrawide screen but everything is open for sugestions. I am planning to overclock that my cpu and heard that the 212 evo was good enough?

Thank you in advance for any and all help :)

no ssd?

I couldn't really decide between less but faster storage or more storage, so i went with the cheaper one.

if you cant afford a SSD i could maybe hook you up with one

It would be great if you could do that :)

humm

Spoiler

1) sub-par cooler, only suitable for mild to normal OC, not suitable for high clock voltages, i recommend Dark Rock Pro 3

2) i dont recommend ballistix sport ram for skylake, ive seen 2 system not booting with it now, i recommend hyperx or vengeance lpx, and get 2x8gb, not 4x4gb

3) bad psu, get a better one like the EVGA GS/G2/P2 550W/650W

4) i would add an 250gb samsung 850 evo SSD at your budget

1-Could use a better power supply, check here:

http://linustechtips.com/main/topic/406160-psu-ranking-and-tiers/

2-I'd rather get 2*8GB RAM, so that you can upgrade to 32GB down the line.

You don't need a unlocked CPU. I would get a i5-6600 (no "k"). And also, a H100i Corsair water cooling system. You don't need Windows 10 pro, I would recommend the home version as pro only adds security features. I would also change the PSU to a 650W as a 750W won't use all of its power. And I would also get the RAM as a 2x8GB.

Good luck with the build! :)

Good point on the power supply, I'll take a look at that. As for the ram, those 4 sticks are actually on sale now and the price keeps going down. That's why they are included (went from 83,90 to 61,05 and now it's at 54,53).

Why would the H100i be beneficial if i don't have an unlocked cpu? And Win10 pro is actually cheaper than home on kinguin (I don't know why).

You can't overclock non-K CPUs anymore, intel cracked on that.

It will only make like a 1FPS difference in game..

A bit more actually (especially at the minimums):

If he is not to get a unlocked CPU he will be better off with the i5 6500 since it offers more value per dollar, and maybe a cheaper board along (not much point of getting a Z170 board with a locked CPU).

And it won't be overclocked as far as the K-CPUs can. Only like 0.2GHz more.

Forget about that part, that was a typo I mean "can't" not "can".

As GreezyJeezy has sorted out your SSD problem, everything is else is fine and since the 4x4GB sticks are on sale, go for it.

Looking at my signature are we now? Well too bad there's nothing here...

I am planning to use this for some solidedge/works for school on this thing and this would benefit from a better cpu. However this is not the main goal for this build since i can also use computers at school for this.

Not exactly, I would downgrade the PSU as 750W is a lot of power. He will not be using more than 100W. And also he should change the Windows to the Home edition. The difference between pro and home is that pro has business security features. There is like a $50 price difference.

As of right now on kinguin windows 10 pro is €25,99 and home is €29,99.

Kinguin...so that copy of windows is cheaper than home which is already stated by OP (" And Win10 pro is actually cheaper than home on kinguin (I don't know why)."),

100w? What are you on? although a 650w psu can easily power this build but if he's not spending much more for a 750w psu over a equivalent 650w (as in quality and whatever), it's fine.

Oh, that is a bargain. And extremely cheap. Windows costs like $100 :)
