So maybe not nothing but I know very little. I have built pc's before but only assembly for my roommate never part selection. I am finally in the point in my career where I can afford to drop some coin on a good pc build.

1. Budget and Location

I am in the U.S. specifically CO. For budget I am shooting for $2500 but can go a little higher if there is a build that is slightly over that is worth it.

2. Aim

I am a mechanical engineer that does alot of fairly significant modeling in Solidworks and other such software. The goal of this build is to be able to bring some of my work home with me so I possibly dont have to go into the office as much and I would also like to be able to run new games at a good performance level. Also I want to build a machine such that future upgrading is a possibility if I want to up the performance down the road.

3. Monitors

Minimum of two monitors possibly three at a later date.

4. Peripherals

I have decent peripherals already. I may upgrade down the line but the priority is getting the machine itself to a good level.

5. Why are you upgrading

I am upgrading because I finally have some extra cash I can afford to spend mainly. I need a home machine to run some work software and be able to game at a decent level in my spare time. I also am just a person that likes building and this is a intriguing project.

I dont need a complete part list (though all recommendations are greatly appreciated). I am just very new to the actual building side of computers and would appreciate anyone who can point me in the right direction.

Hey @FrozenTexan, welcome to the forums!

If you could tell us the specifications of the office PC you use to do your work, that would be super helpful in determining the appropriate parts for your build. Thanks! :D

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

Only yours, you don't shitpost on the same level that we can, mainly because this thread is finally dead and should be locked.

I wasn't wrong. It's extremely rare that I am. I provided sources as well. Different devs can disagree. Further, we now have confirmed discrepancy from Twitter about he use of the pre-release 1080 driver in AMD's demo despite the release 1080 driver having been out a week prior.

You apparently haven't seen his responses to questions on YouTube. He is very condescending and aggressive in his comments with which there is little justification. He acts totally different in his videos. I don't necessarily care for this content style and there is nothing really unique about him or his channel. His endless dick jokes and toilet humor are annoying as well.
