1000 CAD build

My friend have a 1000CAD buget, here is the part list

He already have a 2TB HHD

for the gpu we plan to get a used 780ti, when 1080 come we will switch to a 980yi

Do you guys have any advice?

PSU is a not to good but decent power supply. i say decent because it wont blow up like coolmax psus would. go single channel 8gb so you can upgrade to 16gb easily later on. if your getting a 980ti later on might as well get an i5 6600k and a z170 motherboard

I thought even a i5-2400 will not bottleneck a 980?

try to get anther HDD to store all your work and maybe if you can squeeze a little more $$ try and get the I5 6600K

 

if not its a good build might need better cooling aswell

thanks, but if I am not plan overclocking do I still need a better cooling?
