so i havent done much overclocking with a graphic card just yet, And i was wondering can you damage your card without touching the voltage? i mean i was planning to just take babysteps to find out how high it can go and how high i'm willing to have it go

i have a gtx 660 sofar only tried clocking the core for +50 and memory for +250 in msi  afterburner

As long as you're temperatures are in check you should be fine. When overclocking your GPU you should be doing it in small steps anyway. A lot of people don't touch voltage until it becomes unstable and even then they just raise the power limit to +20%.

If your voltage is unchanged, the thing that would cause major damage to a video card is heat.

so as long as temp is fine i have nothing to worry about?

the max temp sofar when i've been running my current overclock was 79

and from what i've read/heard this card should be able to handle  temperatures up to like 100

I would keep it under 90c to be safe.

ofc i dont want it to run over 90 pretty much 24/7

max fan speed is 50% in afterburner

You might want to create a custom fan profile in Afterburner just to make sure that the card is staying adequately cooled. :)
