Replacing your motherboard usually requires a fresh install of Windows. Retail keys can be de-activated and re-activated, but you have to phone in to Microsoft to do them. OEM keys are tied to the motherboard, however. Either way, it's usually a good idea to reinstall Windows regardless.

You don't think I could get away with it by just deleting old motherboard drivers?
