Good CPU for video and audio editing

Hey all,

I am looking to build a new PC for myself, and some of the main tasks that this PC would be used for are video and audio editing. I'm less worried about audio but I feel that I definitely need a good CPU for editing video projects. I guess I would also need a good GPU to go along with it, so any suggestions on that are welcome as well.

My overall budget is flexible as I plan on buying each part as I can so nothing too crazy expensive but I'm not necessarily looking for super budget either.

Thanks!

So, signatures are a thing. How does one do them? Is this right?

ATM top pick would likely be either the 5820k or 5830k.
The 980ti is currently the best unless you drop 1k for a 5% difference at best getting the titan edition.

Yeah, $1,500 sounds reasonable to me.

So, signatures are a thing. How does one do them? Is this right?

depending on whether you need CUDA or not

you can drop the 980ti for a 750ti or something like that if you dont for much lower cost

this should be very quiet and realiable. if you want you could upgrade to 32gb of ram. it helps with cutting 4k video.
