Does anyone know when the Skylake-E processors are going to be released? It would be cool to look at the knew i7-6960X processor (if that's what it is going to be called). I think they may get released with the release of their new Kaby lake processor, but I don't know when this will be.

I personaly expect Skylake-E at end of this year, or Q1 2017 something along those lines.

But yeah thats only a guess, based on their release cycles in the past.

Broadwell-E is a bit late.

But they did the same on the main stream platform, on which Broadwell was pretty much a flop.

Because pretty much nobody bottered with them, with the Skylake launch so close after it.

If you think about it, Haswell-E was allready launched at Q3-2014.

X99 has allot of flavs, and i personaly think that intel is just going to release Broadwell-E quickly now, to satisfy the early adopters of X99 giving them their 1 cpu upgrade cycle.

And then they will probably abandon X99 asap.

Thats what i personaly expect :)
