Just curious, why would you use this over Windows or Linux on your desktop PC if you already have either on your disk?

I saw this a while back and thought it would be an interesting OS for netbooks or chromebook-type devices.

Because it is much faster, and smoother than Windows is. Plus, I don't have to worry about the terminal bullshit with Linux. (Don't get me wrong, I love Linux, I just hate that fucking Terminal! >_> )

It is pure simplicity, while still allowing me to do everything I want to do. I've been wanting Android on a desktop environment for years, and I finally have it.

It's not 100% yet. For example, I can't run multiple monitors, nor is there sound over HDMI, so I'm using headphones. Also, you have to connect via wifi currently, as there is no support for ethernet yet, but other than that, I've had no issues. I'm sure it won't use my hardware to it's fullest potential (like my R9 390, for example), but it's not like any Android games would be demanding enough for that to matter.

Also wanted to point out there are some android x86 and chromeOS options

xD my i7 can play agery birds better than your s4

As for drivers and why you would use it, most people use it on pcs that arent in use or for web apps and fun or development testing.

You can try some of the various .apk for ethernet but most likely you'll just have to use wifi or a usb ethernet adapter and try to build onto the OS manually. But, as with all OSs, more is to come soon and since there are 5 or 6 android OSs shuffling around( pc, android devevices, and pis) it shouldn't be long

That's what I'm hoping for. (yeah, when I made this thread, I kinda forgot there was that other thread already made XD) But yeah, I'm sure that, given enough time, they can polish the product to be basically a fully fledged desktop OS. It IS technically still in Beta.
