So I like that franchise but the oldest/first one of the franchise was my favorite and I kind of like the newest game in that series.

Though from what I've heard the original Black Ops was poorly ported to PC and might have issues playing on more powerful and modern hardware.

Because it was a Windows 7 game I suspect that playing it on Windows 10 won't be a problem.

Would I just be better off maybe just getting a replacement Black Ops disc for my Xbox 360 and not buying it for PC (I already have BO2 for the 360 though I'd be fine repurchasing it for PC) and then just buy BO3 for PC?

(Feel like I'm sort of leaving my PS4 out)...

Leave COD on console, the PCMR doesn't need that noise tainting its reputation.

Wow you solved my dilemma 10/10.

I would sort of like to play Black Ops on the PC, though I can just plug my PC into the monitor using DP and the Xbox in with HDMI. If the PC port of BO3 wasn't very good I guess I could either buy a second PS4, use Remote Play for PC.

He actually gave you an answer. Don't buy any COD for PC when you have a console. It's just not worth being annoyed by all these bugs on PC because they dont bother to port it properly. BO1 barely plays on my PC, BO2 was a bit better, but not like how I want it. BO3 is a mess... Just get the console version.

I have no issues with BO3 on PC. Don't really have advice for you, though.

Hmmm well then...

I wonder if Remote Play for PC over Ethernet doesn't compress the picture as much as it does over Wifi

Or just buy another PS4 and an an HDMI switch...

I have black ops 3 and black ops 1, black ops 1 shits all over 3. Runs fine on my 980 and 4690k, no problems at all.
And a s a previous console gamer who's favourite cod was black ops 1 on the 360, I can say I enjoy it much more on pc.
I got my games from g2a, which currently has black ops 1 for £3.96. At that price it's worth a try, but I'm 100% sure you will have no problems with it. It runs very smooth and has plenty of servers.

I'm mostly after the offline stuff. Though if the lobbies haven't been overran by hackers and cheaters and ddosers perhaps I'd play in lobbies.

I could just buy all three games on steam. If they don't play good enough I can just refund them. Get a replacement Original Black Ops disc for the 360 and just refund which ever ones I wasn't satisfied with since that's a thing on steam now. I would be using an i5 6600K and R9 390X.
