X99 is the top level for Intel and supports 3/4 SLI/Crossfire (only certain boards support 4x SLI/CF on 5820K), they support 6 and 8 core i7 CPU's, offer more PCIE lanes and quad channel memory.

since one is 6 cores with 3.3ghz and one is 4cores with 4ghz
