check your core speed multiplier in the bios, it should be around 42 not 8

1) check power option and make sure your cpu power isnt limited to only 5%

2) check bios to make sure your cpu's multiplier is set to auto (or default)

3) check if u enabled intel speed step

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

check to make sure you didn't actually hit a "slow PC" switch on your motherboard.

It's a switch that slows your CPU down to 800mhz to allow for easy Overclocking whenever you're trying to go with a /super/ high one.

ive heard people go through things like this a few times now and so far almost every time it was that.

Update bios and reset bios back to defaults.

Reinstall your windows, might be a corrupted install where power management is acting up.

Other things to look for, check for bent pin, dust that might get in the socket or finger prints on the cpu contact pads.

i dont know what switch can be that, i have 3 one for the type of cooler, one for power consumation (is off) and another for auto OC de rams.

my system, when it resumes from sleep, the cpu gets stuck at 800MHz no matter what, but it goes back to normal when I restart. Too lazy to reinstall the OS cause I have too much programs and settings that needs to be reconfigured.
