Dac is possibly screwed?

Hey guys,

Got a problem with my dac (Schiit Brifrost Uber). It keeps connecting and disconnecting from the pc, when I go to uninstall it it tries to install itself it fails and when I go to install it manually it keeps connecting and disconnecting. Not only that, I get a few blipping noise from the speakers in USB mode.

When in optical mode it keeps clicking on and off continuosly unless there's audio played whereas it usually only clicks when there is audio being played or stopped (so only 2 clicks like a light switch).

3 causes that I can think of:

1 - I installed Out of Your Head software and that screwed with the dac

2 - Something happened after reorganising my desk space

3 - I have a Lyr 2 amp and I was trying to get a tube extender out with a screwdriver and it shocked me then I connected the dac to it after putting it all back together.

I've contacted Schiit and am waiting for a response.

Then wait for a response. Let the manufacturer help you before soliciting unqualified internet knowledge.

Managed to get it working but I got a bunch of ground noise to sort out. Can you give me some suggestions on cable routing?

Desk setup from left to right is:

Speaker - amp - monitor - dac - speaker - pc
