Okay, If you dont want to feel sad then read the next post. Currently in my system I have a GT 635 (I know...) I have overclocked it to where I do not get that many issues, but there are still some. Money comes short for me. I have long debated some of these questions too, but I want a 3rd opinion (my second being some friends I've asked) So, I want to upgrade to a GTX950 temperarly until I get a new Case and PSU to store a GTX980ti (and the money) Here are my questions:

#1 Should I buy new or used?

#2 Do I wait for Pascel and Polaris so prices drop?

#3 Should I skip the 950 and go straight for a 960?

Oh, Heres the GPU I'm currently looking at: https://pcpartpicker.com/part/gigabyte-video-card-gvn950wf2oc2gd

I want to get ~30fps while recording  and streaming via my elgato HD60 or OBS in the following games:

-Space Enginers (I talk with the devs frequently if that does anything)

-Star Citizen

-Portal 2

My current important specs:

-I7-4790K

-8gb of ram

-250gb samsung 850evo

-1TB segate 7200rpm HDD

Any opinions are appreciated! (And yes, I have a very preculiar system, you may thank my understanding of hardware a year ago for that! Dont worry, I know my stuff now)

1.) I would buy new to ensure you have a proper warranty.

2.) Do you want a nice graphics card before Pascal and Polaris arrive to consumers?

3.) What power supply do you have exactly?

I would buy used  you can get a GPU like the 980 with full warranty for $380-400

so if you get a new card used most of the time still have a warranty unless you get something that has been out for a while like a 770 or a 290

but if you wait till Polaris comes out you will have more money and the used prices will drop even more.

but personalty I would save and get the best Items I can even if it takes me more time. getting a 950 or 960 would kind of be a wast at this point

you are better off getting a 390 or GTX 980 or higher card or just waiting.

I hate to say it, but if money is tight, you might want to wait a couple months, since new stuff is just around the corner and prices will drop. If you're not super tight on money, spend an extra $30 on a 960. You'll get a little more bang for your buck than you would with a 950.
