overclocking Overclocking: Increased sound vs Increased performance

I am planning on overclocking my cpu. The problem is that I want my pc to be really quiet. Right now I have the dark rock pro 3 with only 1 fan and I was wondering if I overclock my cup to about 4,2 gHz it will start to become loud?

I dont think so. Be Quiet fans are really quiet even at high speeds. And you can always play with fan curve to make it dead silent.

What CPU do you plan to overclock?

If your concerned about acoustics, I would either set up a fan curve, get a pc noise absorber kit, or get quieter fans like the Nf -F 12's from Noctua but the fans on the Dark Rock Pro 3 are already very quiet.

well yeah but I cant fit a noctua in the dark rock pro 3. Its middle fan mount is 135 mm, it sucks

Oh yeah it does, but the Dark Rock Pro 3 should keep acoustics down pretty well.
