RAM ISSUE

For some reason My computer is not letting me use all of my 8 Gigs of ram, I have two 4GB dimms for a total of 8, Attatched is a graph of the ram usage, and the one with higher numbers is the one while playing minecraft with Optifine installed, Why is 5.5GB being reserved? pls help!

what ram and motherboard? i heard that can happen if you have RAM that your motherboard doesn't fully support

Some motherboards have certain RAM slots for certain types like DDR3-1600 and DDR3-1330, maybe try a 1330 type RAM stick?

whats running in the process tab? maybe something is eating your ram

I will check when I get home. I think the only ram eater would be minecraft, but double checking wouldn't hurt.

You're running an APU with no other GPU.  Your system will reserve a chunk for video memory.

Yes.  I have an APU in my system as well.  If I remove my video card, it sap's that much memory.  You can either add more memory, or a separate card.  Add more memory and you'll be good.
