I mean he's not 100% wrong, the 5th and 6th GPU could probably be used for folding or something. Physical hardware limit is actually 8 GPUs and driver support from AMD and Nvidia is 4 limit.

 

But a quad GPU setup is lulz,

Technically speaking, three 7990s can run in one rig. But, not in Crossfire. I base my theory on the fact that I once ran a GT 620 and a 7850 in my rig at the same time.
