I have ad700xs and hd668bs I don't really know which one I like better. Sound wise they sound about the same to me. comfort however is a big issue on the 668s. The pads are thin and my ears touch the driver wall. The clamp also puts pressure on my jaw. Would velour pads make a big difference. Would they be any deeper? Also how much would it improve the sound? I am going to have to make my decision on which pair to keep. Thank you!

Honestly, I prefer the superlux sound over Audio technica's.

Audio technica also on that lower end of things doesn't really have great value, but that's much more in terms of the m50x.

Audio is extremely subjective though. Try em both, keep the ones you think sound better to you for the music you listen to, and the games you play.

Depends entirely on which brand of pads you get. There are a crap ton of pads out there, with varying thickness.

they also wouldn't do a lot for sound. They'd give you less isolation than the pleather pads that it comes with, and allow your ears to breathe more.

Any pads you would recommend that are deeper than stock hd668b pads

these come with decent recommendations from others.  http://www.amazon.com/Cosmos-Velvet-Replacement-Cushion-Headphones/dp/B00KLPRQMO/ref=pd_sim_23_1?ie=UTF8&dpID=41UnGboonAL&dpSrc=sims&preST=_AC_UL160_SR160%2C160_&refRID=1057EDBM4C6FQ3DSZ1XW

I've not used them personally, and I'm not 100% sure they've that much larger than the stock pads.

Yes, they're labeled for AKG 240, but that headset has the same dimensions as the 668b, so it should fit no problem. ::EDIT: a quick look at the item comments confirms they fit on 668b's
