7.1 DAC

I wondering if any good quality digital to analog converters exist that are not full blown recievers for 7.1 analog audio out, my main desire is to hook my razer taimat headset up to my xbox through the optical audio out, also the rear speakers analog out on my desktop seems to be broken but as far as i can tell the optical audio out seems to be working fine so that would also solve that problem. Any advice would be much appreciated.

they are called audio processors, and from what I remember when looking them up years ago, very expensive, and not worth it.

a receiver would be a better option.

 

putting the money towards a better headphones would be a better use of money. IMO

well thanks for your input T0wer but i don't think ill be buying a new headset because in my opinion they sound amazing but if they are that expensive they I think ill probably just shop around for a good receiver

I got this vantec from ncix's affiliate store for cheaper but they no longer stock it. 

I bought it because the onboard from my torrenting pc died 

 

not bad just as good as onboard

its basically the exact same form factor as your link with a different colored enclosure

 

I've seen a few other brands with this exact same "soundcard" I'm guessing there is a factory in china that pounds these things out and different companies come in and put a different skin on top of it and sell them as their own
