could someone tell  me what kinds of security risks I have as a consumer (i.e. a person normal person who games and does regular computing activities on his at home network) faces in regards to browsing the internet, the computer system overall, and home network? Then, could someone explain ways to minimize risk of damage or privacy invasion?

I come asking this question because there are so many programs, articles, and people all telling me different things about my digital security, but I cannot seem to find a full comprehensive guide or anything that explains all the risks i face and what kind of products i should look for as a regular consumer and not as a company or firm where you the systems are a lot more complicated.
