Thats quite vague and we all know what a PC needs, no need to list CPU, Motherboard ect. Just peripherals...

I take it he already has a TV with HDMI he can use? If waiting for AM4 is an option that would be a better platform

Benchmarks, would be a bit faster than the A8 stuff here naturally

Should go for the 430W from seasonic over a low end EVGA PSU though

and I'd probably go for an 860K if he doesn't plan on upgrading that dual core anytime soon.

They're going to be pretty close, and you can't OC it like the G3258 if I'm not mistaken.

aside from that your minimum frame rates can suffer with a dual core, and some games like GTAV or Far Cry 4 just don't like dual cores.

If he isn't going to upgrade for 6 months or more, you're going to be better off with the 860K for the long run there, the only difference is spending a bit more money down the line when upgrading to a haswell i5 to keep the RAM

Dunno if the 880K is available over there yet though, that one actually keeps up with an i3 going by these tests.

This is about as cheap as i could get for a whole PC including peripherals for gaming

CPU/GPU: Its using the top of the line AMD A10. This will be about on par with a console raw power wise being able to play most games on medium settings at 1600x900

RAM: Fastest RAM for a reasonably cost (for the APU)

HDD: No budget for SSD, Tried to fit as fast a HDD in as is reasonably priced

Case: Cheap placeholder

PSU: EVGA budget PSU nowadays are reliable enough, this is the cheapest one on the market

Monitor: 1600x900, cheapest from a "decent" brand. It is also a very good resolution for the AMD APU.

Peripherals: Basic gaming mouse, alright keyboard

OS: Windows 10 can be picked up on Kinguin for £21.

Could be upgraded later with a GPU for better gaming performance (an R7 in crossfire with the APU or R9)

EDIT: Benchmarks

I'm assuming he has a TV ready for the PS4

Also Dual Graphics is never really worth it, and go for the seasonic PSU over the low end EVGA PSU

at minimum at this point, you'd want a 1080p IPS display

Ah yeah good point. OP asked for a monitor so I just chucked one in as cheaply as possible. Without the monitor it would fall into his £350 budget.
