Run CPU stress test for 10 min before trying to remove it :)

And remove it with water or what?

Use isopropyl alcohol.

Alcohol swabs from your first aid kit.  70% isopropyl alcohol and works wonders if you can't find a bottle of iso for use.

The alcohol swabs are already isopropyl alcohol :P  I'm sure you can get them at the pharmacy, they cost a few cents for packs of 10.

I have removed thermal paste with a dry paper towel and it worked fine. I think ultimately, you'll be fine with doing that. Just be careful of getting water on the PCB or inside the socket. Normal water contains minerals and may cause shorting within the socket, along with the normal corrosive and erosive properties of water.

Okay i will try first with dry paper towel. This thermal paste is on an i7 2700k so it's pretty old.
