Definitely the i5 build.  If you had to, an i3 6100.  Absolutely no to the dual core Pentium.

This one is a little cheaper with a few higher quality parts. I want you to consider it, because this is about what i paid for my PC and it performs very well in games and video rendering, surprisingly:  http://uk.pcpartpicker.com/p/qQb8hM

That's a pretty good pc but i don't think it's worth it to get the AMD cpus right now as there are going to launch new ones really soon and the current ones are getting pretty old

I skimped on storage.  You can switch out the hard drive, or add more, later on.

I agree, but I will not buy an Intel CPU that is 2x the price with less performance. I am aware that AMD doesn't truly have 8 cores, its just some sort of Hyperthreading thing, but I don't care. Still more affordable than Intel.

...and 30-40% slower on any single core, clock for clock.

And AMD stock coolers are REALLY good. I am running my 8350 at 4.5 ghz (500 mhz OC) on the stock cooler and it runs under 80C under load.

My I5 6600K runs at 50C under load, overclocked to 4.3. 80C does not sound good to me.

The 80C was worst case using pretty much everything its got. Under gaming load, it runs more around 40-45C
