Asus GPU tweak vs. other OC softwares

Teemurri

Hello!

I just got into pc things after many many years of mac world and bootcamping. I have had my pc running now for few weeks and I would like to hear some input what is the best solution to OC gpu?

I have asus strix 970 so I thought asus gives the best tweaking software, but do different programs offer different things, what gives best results? Seems like I can crank up clock sliders on asus gpu tweak without any heat issues, so is there more options available on other tweaking programs? Does all the tweaking programs give similar results in performance?

Heres link to my "build log"

It might be good to luck into something like Msi Afterburner, full control over things like voltages and fan speeds, Afterburner is one of the communities favorites for this type of thing. HAPPY OVERCLOCKING

Completely dependent on the GPU.

My matrix for instance doesn't have lots of settings on afterburner, like memory voltage, pll voltage, 3.3v, pwm frequency, and doesn't allow full voltage control of the card.

Gpu tweak 2 offers full control, no other software has support for all the sensors and voltage tweaking on the Matrix.

Just like the classified and kingpin cards get special features with precision X,  and how lightning cards get more things in afterburner.

The strix may get slightly more voltage control in gpu tweak.

As said it will depend on your GPU. If you have a 'special' card like a Matrix, KingPin, Lightning often only the vendors software can take full advantage of the controller and other features, for example on my 580 Platinum only GPU tweak can change memory, pll and core volts, and allows me to play with the matrix lighting and change memory timings.

GPU tweak was causing my cards to desync in SLI though. was only getting a 7000 graphics score in firestrike extreme until I uninstalled and started using afterburner =(

U were probably using the wrong one.  I'll find you the download for it.
