LOL: The Climb #RankedSupport

Preface: I typically have been playing with some friends that are in Gold III range, and have been doing very well thus far when we get matched with similar players. I have only been playing League for about a month and have just turned level 30 and obtained my runes and just enough champions. 

 

The Climb: 

My goal is to make it into the Gold range or better via support ranked matches ONLY. I'll keep you guys updated every major jump and after preliminary placements. My last 20 matches unranked have yielded 80% win rate with using Blitzcrank, Soraka, or Sona. (I want to pick up thresh and play him too, as well as grab Alistar for a hard counter on grabbers.) I've been working on getting better with these characters over the last little bit and it has really helped cement my placement playing them as well as using Jinx in matches where we need an ADC. Why Jinx? She's just plain squishy in general and helps you realize positioning is super important for laning. Lately I've played a fair bit of Soraka and even held a turret solo on bottom against a lucian and blitzcrank for 35 minutes today because people AFK like mad! I really enjoy this playstyle and Soraka has once again helped reinforce where I should be position wise against opposing ADC's and supports, also in games I CANT STAND a vision-less map, so I always need to grab a sightstone and get out some vision otherwise our team runs into big trouble doing things like taking the dragon. 

 

Why support?

Because, That's the role my friends have always been missing - I make a good ADC and Mid as well, but I'd prefer to work on support skills. Generally I find it the most underrated role where a bad support can actually cost you the bottom lane and a good support and negate much of a bad ADC's feeding as well. Support also scales fairly well in general as you aren't really gold or item dependent in many games.

4/17/2016: I've been playing with a few gold ranked friends and playing quite well, I've yet to begin placement, but should begin soon. I've been working on mastering the characters that are on my roster to help counter and fill team comps.
