Ive got the 2's and they're alright. I picked it up off amazon with R6 Siege for 70 bucks.

I just gotta adjust the strap every now and then from it digging into my head.  I've got a big head.  I've never had the older model. So I can't comment.

What sound card? I have the 2's. It's the headphones with a 3-4ft long wire ending in a 3.5mm jack. There's a usb wire that is 4-5ft long with a buttons for the Virtual 7.1 surround, mic volume and headphones volume. It also has a switch on the side for turning on or off the mic.

There's the mic in the box and a plug for airplanes. Since it's slightly too big for the speaker plugs on the back of a mobo.

Other than that, it's a plug and play system. Plug the 2 wires together, plug in the USB and windows auto switches for me. Then that's it. It's all in a nice foam lined box, with a decent bag for transporting it all around if needed.

I got the HCXII in the Black Friday sales last year for £39.99. It comes with a bundled USB sound card.

But since that that apparently isn't enough, here's the direct quote and link from Kingston:

I have no issues with the bag. I just take the mic off, wrap the shorter 3.5mm jack around the headphones. Then the volume button to USB wire gets wrapped around my fingers. Then it's all bagged up.

Headphones at the bottom with the head strap at the top. The USB wire, then the mic. Then pull the string to tighten up the bag and lock it down with the button thing that's on there.

This headset is my first set of a better headphone/mic. Until these, I just bought a walmart logitech headset with mic, used it around my neck for the mic. Played the audio over the speakers.

Now I understand. The soundcard is in the volume buttons. It just sounded like it was a separate piece of hardware.
