Blue Snowball iCE Issue

Hey,

I bought a Blue Snowball iCE and it arrived today, whilst testing it I have noticed that it picks up a lot of background noise and has a humming sound constantly.

Whereas my bad headset mic does not, any help to prevent/remove the background noise would be greatly appreciated.

plus it directly into a usb 2.0 port on the back of your computer

one of the direct motherboard ones

No, it's plugged into a USB 2.0 Port on my motherboard

you got a shorter usb cable you could use?

look for one of the ones with the weird thing around it

they reduce signal noise

Hello my friend! As for background noise, there's not a whole lot you can do because microphones like the Snowball, Yeti, AT2020, and most other higher end USB microphones pick up a lot of background noise as a rule. Turn the levels down through Windows and speak closer to it, I did that to reduce background noise and it worked fantastically. As for the humming, it might be fixed by merely putting some sort of soft padding under the tripod. I had a similar problem with the Blue Yeti, and I simply folded a t-shirt and set it under the stand; thus fixing my problem with the humming. Hope I helped!
