i just bought this power supply to replace a malfunctioning raidmax one. is this a good psu?

Also, does my pc rebooting by itself mean that the psu is failing?

It's not a great PSU unless you're powering a no-GPU or basic GPU system (IE, 750ti or less). What are you powering? Also check out the PSU whitelist in my signature.

My account is almost entirely dormant. Hope you all are having a grand time. Many years of fun were had here.

could be a failing psu, motherboard or cpu, most likely the psu though

i recommend changing it before it dies, because a dead psu is normally bad news for your computer

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

What are you powering? You might want to save up more if you have a high-power system. Also, Seasonic and XFX sells PSUs at that price and they're much better than the EVGA W1 which isn't good.

When I said what hardware you were powering I meant a spec list. The W1 is definitely not the sort of PSU you want if you're getting anywhere near 500W. 500W is two 970s in SLI and an i7 so yeah...

Hmm, OK.

Well you just ordered the PSU from Amazon right? You can get this for your budget and it'll work a tad better than the EVGA W1

 http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-CX430-Supply-Bronze-Certified/dp/B0092ML1SC/ref=sr_1_9?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1459013850&sr=1-9&keywords=antec+earthwatts

Also your build will only ever use around 130W of power under load so yeah, nowhere near 500W xD
