Moving to the UK. New build under 400 GBP!

Abel225

Hi all!

So I'm moving to the UK to study there. I'm selling my current computer as it would be too expensive to ship it. It is better to buy a new/used computer there. I'm not that big of a gamer. Something similar to a 760 is more than enough for me!

My plan is to get a used i7 2600+lga 1155 mobo here in hungary. As there are a lot of people selling these parts. Together they cost under 180 GBP. Is there any good used pc parts site in the UK? specifically in Edinburgh or around there. Storage is not needed as I have some laying around!

Here is a list of what I was thinking for the other parts.

Any suggestion or idea will help! Expect I don't want a xenon with the lga 771 mod!

Thanks a lot!

Good retailers in the UK are:

Amazon (only if the seller has good reviews, most do)

Overclockers

Scan

For used parts (remember for all used parts, meet up with people to ensure they are legit!):

GumTree

There are probably more. But these are a few main ones I have used without a lot of problems.

CPU: i5 4670k @ 3.4GHz + Corsair H100i      GPU: Gigabyte GTX 680 SOC (+215 Core|+162 Mem)     SSD: Kingston V300 240GB (OS)      Headset: Logitech G930

Case: Cosair Vengance C70 (white)                RAM: 16GB TeamGroup Elite Black DDR3 1600MHz       HDD: 1TB WD Blue                              Mouse: Logitech G602

OS: Windows 7 Home Premium                       PSUXFX Core Edition 750w                                                Motherboard: MSI Z97-G45               Keyboard: Logitech G510

Also check out the Kingston 1866 ram. When I last got some, it was essentially the same price as the 1600. Even if you don't need that extra speed it might come in handy some time later. Actually, right now there's a 1866 2x4GB kit on ebuyer that's slightly cheaper than the 1600!

For new kit, I have bought from ebuyer, Scan, Novatech, and Amazon UK (not marketplace) recently. I haven't really looked at used kit.

Gaming system: R7 7800X3D, Asus ROG Strix B650E-F Gaming Wifi, Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 SE ARGB, Corsair Vengeance 2x 32GB 6000C30, RTX 4070, MSI MPG A850G, Fractal Design North, Samsung 990 Pro 2TB, Acer Predator XB241YU 24" 1440p 144Hz G-Sync + HP LP2475w 24" 1200p 60Hz wide gamut
Productivity system: i9-7980XE, Asus X299 TUF mark 2, Noctua D15, 64GB ram (mixed), RTX 3070, NZXT E850, GameMax Abyss, Samsung 980 Pro 2TB, random 1080p + 720p displays.

Okay thanks! I'll look it up! the ram is just the cheapest 2x4 gb I didn't even look at the brand. I still have aruond 2 months before I move so there is a lot of time. I might even wait for the new gpus to come out before buying it.
